To This End Was I Born (1992) is a reverent dramatization of the final chapters of Jesus Christ’s mortal ministry, drawn from the Gospel accounts in Matthew 26–28. The film portrays the Savior’s betrayal and arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, His trials before the Jewish and Roman authorities, and His crucifixion, before continuing into His ministry among the spirits in the world beyond the veil and His triumphant Resurrection. Produced as part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ New Testament video series, the film offers a solemn, scripture-based portrayal of Christ’s atoning sacrifice and victory over death.
