A missionary from Africa comes to the United States and shares with a concerned Christian how he feels the church in America is being deceived and in great danger. The Christian is very convicted by what he hears, makes a significant change in his life, and then sets forth a plan to reach his city with the gospel. He faces unexpected challenges, costs and struggles to execute his idea, plus the uncertainty of knowing if his effort will produce any results. This movie is about the power of Hollywood and the media, and how it affects your life.

The Power of Air brings to light the impact that media has on people. Many have become complacent about seeing nudity and hearing the Lord’s name blasphemed or other sinful vulgarities when it comes to the media they choose. While spending much of their lives seeking entertainment rather than the Lord they have forgotten what it means to be a true Christian and loose the blessings that come from it. On the other hand as this movie shows the truth of the word of God and seeking to do His will brings great blessings impacting many people. This inspires a paradigm shift which is so needed in our society!
This movie has been impactful for my family. I love that it follows a few people who are Christian and recognize after being immersed in inappropriate media that they need to change. It is very relatable, so the movie makes it easy to put yourself in the movie and analyze your own media choices without being threatening. You almost have the same experience as the main character while you are watching the movie. I like that it showed the real effect these kinds of changes can have on friendships, but I also appreciate his friend being humble and joining him. I liked the focus being on the man and then him influencing his wife by his choices. The part that stood out to me this time was when he realized how scary it is to think that you are saved and then to find out that you might not be because of the choices you have made.
This movie created a wave in our home, it is a powerful message of how media really influences our culture. It talks about the largest church in America and it isn’t what you would expect. I think the most powerful message is how we think we are unaffected by the media we watch, but how the people in media know exactly how powerful a message could be.
