Pamela’s Prayer is the story of a prayerful father, a listening daughter, and the sovereignty of God. It is faith realized…and purity lifted high.

This motion picture portray the unique story of Pamela Bucklin from her birth in 1969 to her wedding day in 1991.  Her mother died the day she was born. Her father taught her a certain perspective about purity and marriage.  All of her friends were dating. Pamela was not. And it seemed unfair that her father insisted on such a high standard of purity. Yes, it seemed unfair …until the day she married.

We loved this father/daughter movie. This is a great film for the entire family. Some will say this movie is unreal in our day but we say not so. Great lessons to wait on the Lord and not to follow the worldly peer pressures. Wonderful ending.

I watched this movie last night. It teaches the truth. It is better to wait to kiss the person you marry. Dating is dangerous and when I look back on my own dati g experience, I see that I was frequently put in spiritually dangerous situations where pressure that I didn’t want was put on me. After college two of my closest friends got pregnant while dating active lds guys. They would mock me and my cluelessness as they would talk about the unchaste things that they did. Even though I was spending my time with “good christian/lds kids” it was not a good situation and I feel blessed to have had Heavenly Fathers protection in thosr situations. Putting 16 yr olds on a situation to be alone with the opposite sex with raging hormones is not a good idea.

It’s a huge blessing for Pamela that her father raised her to be virtuous and helped her avoid getting into bad circumstances. Wonderful movie.

This movie is very sweet. You just have to get past the really cheesy acting. But it is so worth it. It is very very good. I loved that the movie did really well at portraying the blessings of obedience and purity and the pain at disobedience and promiscuity. I also just really loved the dads commitment to pray with his daughter everyday. This small act brought him into her life as he prayed specifically for her challenges and even for her friends. I loved that this showed that parenting doesn’t have to be complicated. His influence in her life was real and impactful because he took the time to do the right things in the right way, consistently, and that made all the difference in her life.
