In the United States, loyalty is not a matter of allegiance to a ruler or even to our homeland. Loyalty is measured by faithfulness to the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution was formed by the authority of “we the People,” and it was expected from the nation’s very beginning that the people themselves would enforce the sworn duty of every leader to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. Join Michael Farris, founder and chancellor of Patrick Henry College and chairman of Home School Legal Defense Association, as he walks through the constitutional history and legal theory that are essential to American self-government.
