Today, I was blessed to have a powerful confirmation of the power of the word of God, inspired by a new heroine of mine, Ladan. Please take a moment to watch her story. Imprisoned for her Christian faith in Iran, Ladan endured solitary confinement and interrogation in one of the world’s most brutal and infamous prisons, Evin Prison. Her message to fellow Christians today is a powerful testimony that the way to change the world is to return to the word of God. If you want to make a difference, use scripture.
“Ladan was subjected to interrogation and solitary confinement in Iran because of her faith in Jesus. Moved by an insatiable thirst for the bible, she stole a pen from her interrogator and began writing passages of scripture on her cell wall. Ladan’s story is an amazing challenge and encouragement to treasure and depend upon the word of God.”
“And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God.” (Alma 31:5)
