Author BioEducator, Doctrinal Researcher Professor, Brigham Young University – Idaho Ph.D. Instructional Design Jayson S. Kunzler was born and raised in Orem, Utah as the seventh of eight children. He served a full-time mission to the Japan Fukuoka Mission in Kyushu, Japan. After his mission, Jayson married Jennifer Roberts of Orem, Utah. They have eight children, all of whom have been home-schooled for over ten years. Jayson has been a faculty member in the Business Management Department at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg for over eight years. In addition to teaching business courses, Jayson is currently the assistant department chair, responsible for helping his department to develop and improve courses for online delivery around the world. He earned a bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University, two masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Instructional Design from Idaho State University. In the past, Jayson has worked in both small and large companies as an engineer, operations manager, and supply chain manager. Nothing gives him greater joy than to search the scriptures and teach the pure gospel of Jesus Christ as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Jayson fully agrees with President Boyd K. Packer, who speaking of his younger years said:
“I decided what to do with my future. I would be a teacher…I had a burning witness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I had some knowledge of the scriptures from hours and days and weeks and months of study…I was content then, and I would be content now, to be a teacher.” (Boyd K, Packer, The One Pure Defense, Teaching Seminary Preservice Readings Religion 370, 471, and 475, (2004), 7–12)Jayson’s interests include being with his family, studying the scriptures, fly fishing, and other outdoor activities.
